RM2888   Kolwezite, malachite and calcite Co
More photos

Globular aggregates of kolwezite, light to intense green in color. They contrast on a matrix with cobalt-bearing calcite crystals.

Size: 4.6 x 3.9 x 3.8 cm.
Found in ±2010.

RM2463   Cobaltoan dolomite
More photos

Colourful specimen of cobaltoan dolomite, with intense color, brilliance and translucent crystals. Very aesthetic. From the J. Astor collection (Barcelona).

Size: 4.1 x 2.6 x 2.4 cm.
Found in ca. 1987.

Col. J. Astor (Barcelona).

RM2109   Kasolite and guilleminite
More photos

In my opinion, among all known radioactive minerals, kasolite is the most aesthetic. It presents forms of elongated to tabular prisms, very well defined and sharp, many of them doubly terminated and of intense yellow color, even with some transparency. It is accompanied by guilleminite crystals of yellowish color. The matrix is partially covered by brilliant malachite. A aesthetic sample from a classic locality, to be observed with attention.

Size: 6.5 x 4.5 x 4 cm.
Main crystal: 1.5 mm

Excol. F. Coune (Belgium).
Presents radioactive activity.
Sold
RM1975   Kasolite with malachite
More photos

Kasolite is one of my favorite species. In this sample (from Dr. Viñals, Barcelona) we can enjoy several vugs with lanceolated kasolite crystals. With the orange color, some transparent and isolated, some forming aggregates. Contarsting on the green matrix.

Size: 4.1 x 3.7 x 3.5 cm.

Presents radioactive activity.

RM1610   Kasolite with wulfenite and torbernite

It presents forms of elongated to tabular prisms, very well defined and sharp, many of them doubly terminated and of intense yellow color, even with some transparency. It is accompanied by wulfenite crystals of orange color. The matrix is partially covered by brilliant and transparent torbernite thin tabular crystals. With some malachite. A aesthetic sample from a classic locality, to be observed with attention, nowadays it is very difficult to see good samples like these.

RM541   Cuprosklodowskite with baryte and malachite
More photos

Fantastic cuprosklodowskite specimen formed by several thin acicular prismatic crystals with a brilliant green to yellow color, very brilliant and transparent. Crystals have grown in cavities covered by dark green malachite. In one of them we can enjoy a great aesthetic group of tabular barite crystals, with toasted honey color and transparent, on which a beautiful acicular aggregate of cuprosklodowskite has grown. A small beauty.
This speciemn of uranyl
and copper silicate is from Musonoi, not Kalongwe. A complete sample.

Size: 7,5 x 6,0 x 4,5 cm.
Main crystal: 8 mm.

Ex-col. Joan Rosell.
